Holding AK-47 rifle, cops missing son posts picture on social media

Srinagar: Holding an AK 47 rifle, picture of a policeman’s teenage son who went missing last month from Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district has gone viral over social media, giving rise to speculations that he may have joined militant ranks.

Sources said that the seventeen year old Fardeen Mohiuddin, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin, who is a Head Constable in J&K Police and currently posted in Srinagar, went missing on September 15, 2017. Despite searching him at all possible locations, the family could not trace the missing teenager.

After nearly a month today, the picture of the missing boy appeared on social media in which he is seen posing with an AK47 rifle while ‘Jaish-e-Muhammad’ is also inscribed on corner of the picture.

In the picture, the boy is seen wearing famous ‘Pakool’ cap and has spotted short beard. Sources said that the teenager may have joined ranks of Jaish-e-Muhammad which has in recent months carried out various attacks in the Valley.

A senior police officer said that “most likely” he may have joined the militant ranks. “He was missing and today picture of same guy has gone viral. We are verifying the matter but most likely he may have joined the militant ranks,” he said, requesting not to be named.
