Tral search operation:  Forces resort to aerial firing to disperse protesters

Pulwama: Government Forces on Friday resorted to aerial firing in Tral area to disperse the protesters who had blocked the road leading to Tral forests, where gunshots were heard early in the morning.
Local sources said that youth blocked the road leading to Channad forest of Pastuna village of Tral area to stop more reinforcement leading to cordon site.

Sources added that as forces reached the spot where the road was blocked,  they fired several shots in the air to disperse the protesters.

Earlier, Government forces launched a search operation in the area after gunshots were heard in the forest area in Tral area in south Kashmir.

Reports said that forces pressed choppers into the service to locate the suspected militants in the area.

Forces have been conducting searches as they suspect the presence of militants with the help of choppers,  said an official.

The search operation was going on when this report was filed.
