Hajin, Shopian shuts to mourn killing of militants

Srinagar: A day after the killing of two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants, the locals in Hajin town observed a complete shutdown to mourn their death.

    Nasrullah Mir, a local resident, was killed along with his associate in a brief gunfight with forces on Wednesday morning in Rakh-i-Paribal area of Hajin.

   Two Air Force commandos working with army for training purposes were also killed in the gunfight.

   Thousands of people amid clashes and pro-freedom slogans had participated in the last rites of local militant.

    Reports said that all the shops and business establishments remained shut while transport also remained off the roads.

    Meanwhile, Shopian town in South Kashmir also observed a complete shutdown for the consecutive fourth day against the killing of the three militants.

    Reports said that life was completely disrupted due to the shutdown.

    Three local militants were killed in a gunfight with government at Gattipora area of Keller in Shopian district three days back.
