Mobile Internet service suspended

Srinagar: Mobile Internet services was suspended in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Wednesday following a gunfight in Hajin that left two Air Force commandos and as many militants dead.

An official said that the service was suspended to “prevent law and order situation” following the killing of militants in the area.

Two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants and two Air force commandos were killed when government forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Hajin village of Bandipora.

The commandos were identified as Cpl Neelesh Nayan and Sgt Milind Khabar. Meanwhile, the militants were identified as Abu Bakr @Ali Baba and Nasrullah Mir, son of Nazir Ahmad Mir, resident of Hajin.
