Srinagar: Youth wing of National Conference on Wednesday staged a protest in Srinagar against the braid-chopping incidents in Kashmir Valley.
Led by Youth National Conference President Salman Sagar Scores of workers marched from Nawa-e-Subh headquarters of the party towards the Lal Chowk.
However, police stopped them near the Polo View and detained several protesters, including Sagar.
“We want the government to come out of deep slumber and find a solution to the issue of braid-cutting before the situations takes an ugly turn,” he said before his detention.
“We don’t want to politicize the issue but the government should come forward and resolve the matter”.
