SRINAGAR: The joint resistance leadership has called for a shutdown on Monday against the unabated braid chopping incidents in the state.
In a statement, the leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik termed the braid chopping incidents as a “well-thought-out conspiracy”, saying, “It is a big challenge for us as dignity of women folk is at stake.”
They appealed people to observe complete shutdown against the humiliation meted out to women.
“Let us convey a message to these miscreants that we will in no way give up our resistance and will pursue the right to self-determination movement,” they said.
The leadership said that unity and steadfastness is the need of the hour.
