Rijiju arrives in Srinagar, briefed about security situation in Kashmir

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju was today briefed about the security situation in Kashmir, where braid chopping incidents are reported almost daily for the past about a month.

Mr Rijiju, who arrived here on a two-day visit to Kashmir, was also informed about recent fidayeen attack on a BSF camp near Srinagar International Airport.

Mr Rijiju will attend a music concert by famous singer-composer Adnan Sami today on the banks of picturesque Dal Lake.

The concert is being organised jointly by his ministry and the Jammu and Kashmir government to promote tourism and Kashmiri culture in the valley.

A BSF spokesperson said that Mr Rijiju arrived in this summer capital at 0835 hrs on a two-day visit to Kashmir. (Agencies)
