A former militant who was injured after suspected militants opened fire at him, succumbed to his injuries here in Srinagar Hospital on Friday.
A police officer told that suspected militants after Friday prayers shot at at former militant Rafiq Ahmad bhat alias Dada s/O Ghulam Mohi ud din R/O near Abghar in the town.
In the incident Dada sustained serious bullet wound and was immediately shifted to nearby hospital where from he has been shifted to Srinagar for specialized treatment. However, doctors at SMHS declared him brought dead on arrival.
Pertinently, Rafiq was attacked by masked gunmen during the past also. However, he survived two attempts on his life in 2015.
