Two ‘infiltrators’ shot dead near Punjab border

Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday claimed to have  foiled an infiltration bid near Ajnala along Pakistan border. The BSF said two infiltrators, suspected to be drug smugglers, were shot dead after they fired on BSF officials when asked to surrender.

“In the intervening night of 19-20 September 2017, vigilant BSF troops foiled an armed infiltration bid across International Boundary in Ajnala sector near Amritsar, Punjab.

When challenged by BSF troops, infiltrators fired on ambush line with automatic weapons .Taking cover, the fire was appropriately retaliated and infiltrators were neutralized near the fence,” a BSF official said.
