Reacting to the statement of the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, in which he said that he supports Article 35A and special status and that Government in New Delhi won’t do anything against the emotions of the people, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah tweeted: “This is a very important statement from the Union Home Minister. His assurance will go a long way towards silencing the noises against 35-A.”

Pertinently, an NGO backed by RSS has filed a petition in the Supreme Court of Indian seeking the abrogation of Article 35A, that debars non-state subjects from purchasing land and acquire jobs in Jammu and Kashmir.
