SP students protest in solidarity with Rohingya Muslims

Scores of Shri Pratap (SP) Higher Secondary school students Saturday staged a protest while expressing solidarity with the Rohingya Muslims who are being killed brutally by the Aung San Sui Kyi led regime in Myanmar.

The students were holding placards reading ‘save Burma Muslims, We stand with the Rohingya Muslims’.

Amid slogans in favour of Burma Muslims, the students marched towards Srinagar’s Press Enclave from their SP higher secondary school to protest against the massacre of Rohingya Muslims.

The protesting students were demanding an immediate end to the violence against the unarmed civilians.

Earlier during the week, scores of employees union, pro-freedom camp and the locals were seen taking to streets to express solidarity with the Burma Muslims.

They also appealed the UN, Muslims countries to raise their voice against the violence in Myanmar.

Meanwhile, authorities have closed the Women’s College MA road for the day.

Sources said that the step was apparently taken due to the apprehensions of student protest against the massacre of Rohingya Muslims.

Hundreds of Rohingyas have been killed and hundreds of thousands displaced in organised violence against the ethnic minority in Myanmar.
