Hours before their scheduled visit to Delhi to protest outside NIA headquarters, police have arrested resistance leader Yasin Malik while Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Ali Geelani have been placed under house arrest.

According to sources, the trio have been detained. An official when asked whether the resistance leadership would be allowed to fly to Delhi said: “yes, but only if they don’t mobilise people.”

The police official added that they have received information that resistance leaders were planning mass rally before their departure to Delhi and that’s why action was initiated against them in advance.

“Yasin in jail,Geelani sb& myself houseArrested,roads leading to our homes sealed,curfew imposed,just to stop us from exposing the NIA drama!” Mirwaiz tweeted.
