Two army porters injured in LoC firing in Poonch district

 

Two army porters were injured in cross-border firing in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

The injured, identified as Muhammad Farooq and Mushtaq Ahmad – both residents of Mandi tehsil – were shifted to District Hospital Poonch for treatment.

According to reports, several rounds were fired from across the border in Shahpur sector of the district.

Two porters working with the army were injured, they said.

An army spokesman said that Pakistan army initiated “unprovoked and indiscriminate firing” of small arms and automatics from 11:45 am to which the India army responded effectively.
