Ahead of his proposed visit to NIA headquarters to court arrest in New Delhi, Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was placed under house arrest on Thursday morning, a spokesman said.

He said that the Mirwaiz was placed under detention at his Nigeen residence.

Mirwaiz along with Syed Ali Geelani and Yasin Malik had yesterday announced to march to NIA headquarters in New Delhi and court arrest there.
