Law Minister visits Devar, assures tracking down missing youth in two days 

Law Minister Abdul Haq Khan today visited Devar Lolab area of Kupwara district where people are currently protesting youth’s disappearance and assured them that in  next two the missing youth would be tracked down.

A youth Manzoor Ahmad Khan of Kakarpati Devar along with another local Nasrullah Khan were detained by army for questioning few days ago and were allegedly beaten to pulp. Later, as per locals, one youth Nasrullah was released but whereabouts of another are not known. 

Both the youths who work as shepherds were detained by 27 RR of army, locals informed. As locals sought whereabouts of the missing youth, Army denied to have kept him and said he was released along with another youth. 

Meanwhile, the disappearance youth has triggered massive protests in Devar Lolab since yesterday and people are seeking his whereabouts. Interestingly, the missing youth is kin of Abdul Haq Khan, the Law Minister of J&K. 

The minister meanwhile rushed to Devar today and asked people to maintain calm. He urged them not to take law into their hands and assured that the missing youth would be tracked down him in two days. 

The minister also assured people that strict action would be taken against the concerned army major. Among others who accompanied the minister include DC Kupwara Khalid Jehangir.
