Suspected militant on Thursday fired at Sub Inspector Gowhar Ahmad at Barbugh Shopian of the south Kashmir.
SI Gowhar , posted at Sirgufwara Anantnag was taken to the nearby hospital after being shot by militants. Further details are awaited.
Pertinently, on 29 August an assistant sub-inspector of J&K police was killed after militants shot at him in Anantnag district on Monday..
The incident had happened in MehandiKadal near LalChowk locality of the town.
The ASI was identified as 52-year-old Abdur Rashid Peer (belt no 13-A) of Panzath village of Qazigund, Anantnag. Peer was posted at sadder police station Anantnag.
