DSEK issues posting orders for 400 lecturers

Srinagar: Days after ‘Kashmir Vision’ carried a story on delay in issuance of posting orders of lecturers, the directorate of school education on Friday issued over 400 orders of fresh postings of lecturers.
Interestingly, around 800 lecturers were recruited by the school education department in the month of February in different subjects, however only few posting orders were issued in favor of qualified recruited lecturers.
Kashmir Vision on August 21 carried a story that the department has withheld the posting orders of over 300 newly recruited 10 2 lecturers for government run higher secondary schools.
The recruitment of over 800 was completed by JK Public Service Commission (PSC) few months ago and sent the selection list to the school education department for formal issuance of appointment orders and their postings in the schools.
The official said the posting of lecturers was delayed as the newly recruited lecturers as per the transfer policy were to be posted in third zone (tough zone) while as the previous batch was to be called back from that zone.
Interestingly, the lecturer recruitment was started in early months this year and posting orders of Urdu and English lecturers was issued as well.
The lecturers awaiting their posting orders qualified the exams for their appointment for Mathematics, Zoology, Chemistry and Physics subject.
Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) G N Itoo said around 447 posting orders were issued against each recruited lecturer in various subjects.
“We want to ensure that all the vacant posts of lecturers are filled after issuing posting orders of the lecturers,” Itoo said.
He said the filling of posts of lecturers in higher secondary schools will also improve the academic standards of students as well.
