A CRPF constable injured in a militant attack on District Police Lines in Pulwama  has succumbed, taking the death toll in the deadly attack to two.

The deceased trooper has been identified Roy Sudh Karan of  182bn CRPF.

Earlier, constable Imtiyaz Ahmad Sheikh  resident of Churet Qazigund was killed in the attack.

He had sustained injuries in the attack carried out by militants in the pre-dawn hours today. Five CRPF personnel were also injured in the attack.

A group of militants had launched the attack on district police lines (DPL) Pulwama at around 4 AM. As per initial reports three paramilitary central reserve police force (CRPF) and police constable were injured.

Additional reinforcements have been rushed to the spot and entire area has been sealed off.

Sources said the militants, believed to be three, are still holed up inside the district police lines.

The cross firing was going on when reports last came in.

Meanwhile rescue operation of the Police families is underway at DPL.
