Police solves theft case within eight hours, 01 held

Srinagar Police on Saturday claimed to have  solved a theft case within eight hours after the accused  robbed the foreign tourists in Srinagar.

The accused was arrested with stolen cash and property within eight hours after he the robbery.

According to police,  a Bangladeshi tourists in a written complaint informed that unknown persons broke in their room at Hotel Hamza in Buchwara area of Dalgate in Srinagar and robbed them.

” Accordingly Case FIR number 85/2017 was registered at police post Nehru Park under relevant sections of law and investigation started. The special team headed by DO Nehru Park SI Sameer Ahmad was constituted.” Police said.

During the course of Investigation several suspects were rounded up using human and technical intelligence  and one of them a resident of Baramulla identified as Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh confessed involvement in the theft.

On  his disclosure stolen Cash of Rs. 8800 Indian currency and 230 Bangladeshi Taka, Canon DSR, Xiomi Note 4 were recovered from his possession. Further investigation into the matter is going on.
