DDC reviews progress under CAPEX budget

District Development Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar, reviewed the physical and financial achievements registered under District Capex Budget 2017-18 here today.

The meeting held detailed deliberation on implementation of decisions taken in the District Development Board meeting chaired by Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary in March, 2017.

 The DDC took sector wise review of projects undertaken by different departments funded under District Capex Budget allocation, State plan and other centrally sponsored schemes. He directed officers to take all measures for speeding up the works in hand and its completion within stipulated time. He called for optimum utilization of funds for development activities being executed in their respective departments besides submission of funds utilization plan.

The DDC expressed dismay over slow progress on certain projects and set deadline for all the departments to accelerate the pace of progress on ongoing projects so that the targets are achieved.

The schemes of departments which were chiefly reviewed are Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Forest, Rural Development, Minor Irrigation, Power, Sericulture, Education, Youth Sports, PHE, urban Development etc.

Earlier, DDC took review of the progress achieved under Special Central Assistance  to Tribal Sub Plan (SCA to TSP) and Border Area Development Programme (BADP ) schemes of the district.

The DDC discussed in detail the progress achieved with regard to development of border village Korepunnu as a Cluster Model Village under  BADP. He called for early submission of work plan for the sanctioned amount under the scheme.

He also held a complete review of strengthening of amenities works in Village Badnote which is to be developed Cluster Tribal Village under Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub Plan. He exhorted upon the department to mobilise men and machinery to construct the assets in time bound manner.

Pertinently, the initiatives like additional school building, play ground, boundary wall, Laboratory, Ambulance, Water supply scheme, constructing of sheep extension centre etc are to be taken up by the departments to make Badhnote a Cluster Tribal Village.

SE Hydraulic, PO ICDS Kathua, ACD, XEN Urban Development, XEN PHE, XEN PDD, XEN Irrigation, CHO, CEO, DYSSO, DSO,DFO, BMO and other district  sectoral officers were present in  the meeting.
