Indian hostility towards its neighbours threat to world peace, says Pakistan

Pakistan has warned that Indian belligerence towards its neighbours threatens not just regional but international peace and security.

Responding to a question at the weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday about Sino-India border stand-off, Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said India is creating hurdles in the way of its neighbours and this has direct bearing on regional and global peace and security, Dawn News reported.

Responding to other questions, the spokesman said India’s grave human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir, unprovoked firing on this side of the Line of Control and attempts aimed at changing demography of Occupied Kashmir also threaten regional peace with consequences for global peace and security.

About media reports suggesting America’s possible tougher policy towards Pakistan on the pretext of supporting some militant groups, the spokesman said this misperception has been created through media propaganda. He said Pakistan prefers to discuss such issues through channels other than media.

The spokesman, however, said Pakistan’s contribution to war on terror, its sacrifices and successes are unmatched and it does not need certification from others on this account.

He said Pakistan has been engaged in military operations to wipe out terrorists without any discrimination.

Responding to another question, Nafees Zakaria said there is no military solution to Afghan conflict. He said an enduring solution of the conflict can only be achieved through reconciliation and peace talks.
