Hurriyat Conference (G) Tuesday criticized National Investigation Agency (NIA) for summoning of Dr Nayem Geelani and Dr Naseem Geelani, saying that the authorities in Delhi have virtually accepted defeat and now subjecting leadership and Geelani’s two sons to physiological and mental torture.

Hurriyat (G) spokesman according to the statement said that during NIA raids and search operation nothing objectionable was seized or observed, however authorities following their fanatical dogma, arrested and lodged them in Tihar jail.

“It is illogical and unethical,” he said, adding that those arrested during NIA raids are subjected to ‘political vendetta’.

The spokesman said that Indian government is frustrated to the extent that they frame and arrest the pro-freedom leaders and activists on the pre-planned psychological crackdown, so that they surrender and stop voicing the sentiments of their nation, thereby covering and shielding their atrocities and barbarism against common and unarmed people.

“Details about properties related to Dr Nayeem and Dr Naseem were made public in local media to counter malicious propaganda of RSS sponsored social and electronic media,” he said.

Criticizing Indian biased media, the spokesman said that NIA has no role and it is unjustified and illogical to drag it in Kashmir.

Referring to authorities, he said that they are using this agency as a war weapon against leadership and to malign and discredit the freedom struggle.

Referring to the ploy and deceit played by Delhi and the local government here, the spokesman said that they deployed NIA sleuths and resistance leaders are being harassed and fictitious cases are being filed against them.

“It is a well thought out plan and ploy to defame movement and harass leadership,” he said, adding that the people of Jammu Kashmir have nourished the freedom movement with their blood and they won’t tolerate such baseless propaganda against the leadership.

The spokesman termed the arrest of Shabir Ahmad Shah by Enforcement Directorate and summoning of Dr Nayeem, Dr Naseem as worst kind of human rights violation and said that these repressive measures will prove disastrous for authorities.

“The authorities in Delhi are following their biased political dogma and instead of taking any serious step to resolve Kashmir issue, are implicating pro-freedom leadership in fictitious and fabricated cases,” the spokesman added.

Cautioning people about the ‘sinister designs’ of Indian and local authorities, the spokesman stressed to remain vigilant and asked to fight these follies tooth and nail.
