AIP to hold round table discussion on Article 35-A in Srinagar

Welcoming the meeting between National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti over Article 35-A, AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed has appealed to both the leaders to rise to the occasion and show consistency in order to make the efforts from all quarters of the society result oriented.

 

“The meeting between Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti though a step that is too little too late but in an atmosphere of distrust and conspiracies it could become a good beginning for a larger reconciliation and unanimity among political class to fulfill the genuine aspirations and sentiments of people,” Rasheed said in a statement here.

 

However,  Rasheed said that such efforts may yield nothing unless resistance leadership, civil society, traders and people of Jammu & Ladakh region are not also involved in a common minimum programme.

 

 “To develop a broader consensus over the issue AIP will try to facilitate in getting all the stake holders together for discussing the strategy. In this regard party will host a round table discussion in Srinagar on Sunday the 13th of Aug. 2017. All the major political parties including those who from resistance camp will be requested to put forward their views in this regard,” He added.
