Police busts LeT module in Shopian

Police Saturday claimed to have busted a Leshkar-e-Toiba (LeT), module by arresting three Over Ground Workers (OGW’s), and recovering ammunition from them. 
The three OGW’s were arrested by Shopian Police and 62 RR in Chitragam Nagbal area of Shopian district.
Additional SP, Shopian Ifroz Ahmad confirmed that three OGW’s of Lashkar-e-Toiba were arrested from Chitragam village of Shopian district.
He added that three grenades were recovered from their possession. 
“The main aim of the group was to target security forces by hurling grenades. Besides, the motive of the module was to attack political leaders and workers,” he said.
Ahmad said that the OGW’s were working on the direction of top LeT commander Waseem Shah of Heff Shopian. 
Meanwhile, a police spokesman said that acting on a tip off, a joint Naka of Police and 62 RR was established near Nagbal in Zainapora. During Naka, three OGWs of LeT identified as Showkat Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Kabir Mir resident of Chitragam, Waseem Ahmad Sofi son of Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi resident of Chitragam Kalan and Junaid Ali Bhat son Ali Mohammad Bhat resident of Sugoo Hindhama were apprehended and 03 hand grenades were recovered from their possession.
During questioning, the OGWs admitted that they were working at behest of LeT operative Wasim Shah and were tasked to lob grenades on Police establishments, cause death/injuries to Police personnel  and snatch weapons in Shopian. The OGWs had also carried out observation of some Police guards to perpetrate terrorist attacks.  
Police has registered a case in this regard and investigation was set into motion.
