Rugby players screened for upcoming Championship

 

After trails, Screening of Boys and Girls was held for Senior National Rugby 7’S Championship on Thursday at Joggers Park, Rajbagh.

From the Senior Category, twelve girls and twelve boys who have been selected in trails were present during the screening.

Former Captain, Senior Category of Girls J&K Rugby team, Sajidah Shiekh informed that all of their players and are well trained, prepared for the upcoming championship.

“All of our players worked very hard during the practices and have been well trained by our coaches, they are ready for participation,” Sajidah said adding that her team will finish the championship with good result.

“We will play with keen interest and will try our best to make our state proud. We seek moral support and blessings from our people,” she said.

Both the teams will be flagged off on August 8 for the participation in championship.

The champion is scheduled to be held from August 11 at Patna, Bihar, and is being organised by Indian Rugby Football Union (IRFU), in which all the teams rest of the country are going to participate.

Joint Sectary of J&K State Sports Council Abdul Qayoom and many other officials were present during the Screening sessions.
