Class work remained disrupted in Higher education institutions

The class work in all higher secondary schools and colleges remained suspended for the third consecutive day in Kashmir following the killing of two civilians and two militants in an encounter in Pulwama on Tuesday.

Apprehending protests, the authorities had ordered for suspension of class work in all Higher secondary schools and colleges on Thursday “as a precautionary measure.”

In Baramulla district all the educational institutions remained closed on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the class work in other schools- primary, middle and government high schools continued across Kashmir province as per routine.

The term I exams of class 11th was conducted as per schedule by the concerned school authorities, officials said.

This year campuses witnessed a spike in protests since April following the forces action on students in Government Degree College Pulwama. Since then government prefers closure of educational institutions as a precautionary measure to prevent law and order problems.

Also the frequent closure of educational institutions is telling upon the academic of students given the less number of working days in schools.
