Continuing its drive against the drug menace, Police on Saturday arrested a drug peddler and recovered Charas (Cannabis) from his possession.
On a specific information, police party of police station Ashmuqam headed by SHO Ashmuqam under the supervision SDPO Ashmukam and over all under the supervision of of Senior Superintendent of Police Anantnag Shri Altaf Ahmad Khan (KPS) laid a Naka at Hangal Pawa Ashmuqam.
During naka checking, one suspected person was arrested who was later identified as Majid Khan son of Abdul Rehman Khan resident of Hangal Pawa Ashmuqam.
He was carrying a bag with approximately 4 kgs of Cannabis.
Police has registered a case vide FIR No.31 /2017 under section 8/20 NDPS act and further investigation has been taken up.
