The widening/repair work at Panthal is going on and efforts are afoot to make the NHW worthy for two-way traffic. However, keeping in view over all condition of the road, allowing the two-way movement of all sort of traffic on the NHW is not feasible.
In order to facilitate the passengers, tourists, emergency vehicles and Amarnath Yatries, movement of passenger vehicles on the NHW shall be allowed both ways on 28.07.2017, for a specified time.
Therefore, subject to fair weather/ good condition of the road and clearance from Traffic Control Units, on 28.07.2017, movement of passenger vehicles on the NHW shall be allowed both ways, in a very strict and regulated manner. The said road stretch is vulnerable/slide prone zone and therefore should be kept free from all sorts of traffic to avoid any eventuality.
