Clashes erupted in Sopore after Friday prayer 

 

Clashes erupted in north Kashmir’s Sopore town after Friday prayer when number of people assembled near main Bazaar area of the town shouting pro-freedom and anti government forces slogans.

While following joint resistance leadership’s (JRL) call for peaceful protests after Friday prayer to protest against the suspension of life sentence to army personals accused of extra judicial killing of three unemployed Kashmiri civilians near Line of Control (LoC) in Machhil sector.

The protesters tried to march towards the main Chowk and started hurling stones on forces already deployed at main bazaar area.

Meanwhile, the forces used scores of tear smoke shells and pellets to disperse protesters which trigger clashes in the area.

All the business establishments were closed down and traffic movement also remained suspended in disturbed area of town.
