Maiden Patwari Conference held at Awantipora

DDC Pulwama Ghulam Mohammad Dar today said that updation, digitization and preservation of precious land records is an important priority of the district administration.

The DDC said this while addressing to a maiden Patwari Conference organised by Additional Deputy Commissioner Awnatipora.

DDC said that revenue department is an important aspect in developmental administration and a lot depends on the vibrancy of this department. Therefore, it is very important that revenue officials should be trained enough to meet up the challenges thrown to them. The revenue records should be updated on a regular basis be it Jamabandi, Girdawari or mutation records.

Later, DDC Pulwama visited Islamic University of Science and Technology ( IUST) where he had a brief meeting with its Vice Chancellor. The Vice Chancellor apprised the DDC about the various  ongoing activities in the campus.

The Vice Chancellor also said that University is planning to introduce skill development courses for the majority of the students in partnership with Ministry Of Industry And Commerce wherein the students will be given necessary skill training so that they may be easily absorbed in the market without much dependence on state government for employment.

It was also stated that health councils will be set up in the University for students which will act as a centre for counselling the students about the menace of drug addiction.    

The Vice Chancellor also discussed some important land related issues with the DDC. DDC assured that every possible help will be provided in transforming the University into a world class varsity.
