Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has hailed the people of Kashmir for defying the strike call given by the separatists against the arrest of seven second rung separatists for their involvement in triggering unrest in Kashmir and funding militants in the Valley.

In a statement here BJP spokesman, Khalid Jehangir said, “The people of Kashmir by defying the strike call have proved that they believe in progress and have no interest in the dirty politics being played by Hurriyat leaders.”

“Today’s strike call not evoking any response has vindicated the stand of the investigating agencies that strikes and stone-pelting are not spontaneous and these are all orchestrated and organized,” the BJP spokesman said.     

Jehangir said, “Geelani and others had given the strike call to blackmail the government but people have given a befitting reply to them by defying the call. It should serve as an eye-opener for the separatists that their days are over and they cannot hoodwink the people anymore.”

The BJP spokesman said, “Investigations carried out by the National Investigating Agency (NIA) have broken the back of separatists as they stand exposed. It has been proven beyond that these people filled their coffers by selling the blood of Kashmiris.”
