PDP workers exchange blows during meet in Anantnag

People’s Democratic Party workers exchanged blows in full public view and hit one another freely during a workers meeting in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

The incident took place during a party meeting at Khanabal area in presence of District President Javaid Ahmad Sheikh, sources said.

Source said two workers sustained injuries, after some workers accused Party leaders of neglecting senior workers of the Party and adjusting some party workers in Tourism department and Jammu and Kashmir Bank.

Some of the workers during the meeting raised the question of appointing party workers kiths and kins in the government departments while another group complained that only influential workers get a share in these departments, a sources present in the meeting said.

    “First the workers argued with one another and then they exchanged blows and flung chairs in the air. The brawl between the workers created panic in the Hall while some workers were seen raising anti-party slogans,” the witness added.
