Clashes have erupted between government forces and youth in Beerwah town of central Kashmir’s Budgam district, sources said.
According to the sources, soon after taking part in the ‘Chaharum’ prayers of the slain Tanveer Ahmad who was killed on Friday in army firing, scores of youth took to streets and started protesting.
The forces already deployed there resorted to teargas shelling to disperse the protesting youth, triggering clashes.
Authorities had already imposed restrictions in the area to thwart the protests. Heavy deployment of forces was made in the area.
Pertinently, Beerwah town and its adjoining areas are observing complete shutdown since Tanveer’s killing .
