Police today claimed to have arrested twenty people accused in the lynching of deputy SP Ayoub Pandith on the inverting night of 22-23 June in Srinagar’s Nowhatta area.
According to the police one accused involved in the lynching was killed in an encounter between security forces at Redbug village of Budgam.
“Investigation in the case going on expeditiously & effectively, 20 accused arrested, more arrests will be made soon,” IG Kashmir Munir Khan said during a press conference inn Srinagar.
He said that lynching of Deputy SP Ayoub Pandith was a very serious incident and first of its kind in the Valley.
