An elderly man was killed and his minor granddaughter injured in a road accident in Seelu area of Sopore town in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Ghulam Ahmad Mir – a resident of Shopian district of south Kashmir. His minor grand-daughter also sustained injuries. The injured girl was shifted to Sub-district hospital Sopore for treatment.
Four persons were boarding the car when the mishap took place.
According to reports, a tractor hit a private car returning from Kupwara district in Seelu area, resulting into on-spot death of Ghulam Ahmad Mir and injuries to his grand-daughter.
Consequently, a case has been registered and manhunt launched against the tractor driver who fled from the scene.
