Hurriyat (M) condemns killing of a minor girl

Hurriyat Conference (M) on Thursday condemned the killing of a minor student girl by a speeding army vehicle at Zainapora, Shopian.

The spokesman in a statement issued here said that the forces are sans any accountability thereby they continue the killing spree in Kashmir.

“What was more horrible that when the people of area started protesting against the incident, government forces resorted to indiscriminate use of force, including pellets, bullets, and stun grenades on them leaving more than 30 people including women injured,” he said.

The spokesman said that innocent Kashmiris including kids are being crushed to death and people are not even allowed to mourn or to protest, instead those raising their voice against injustice, are showered with pellets and bullets.

“The force’s action on peaceful protestors in Zainapora, is highly condemnable,” he said.

He also condemned the arrest spree of youth initiated by police in Islamabad, Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam where dozens of youth are detained every day.

The spokesman said that people of South Kashmir districts are being subjected to worst form of suppression, which is ‘extremely condemnable’.

Meanwhile, the spokesman castigated the government over the continuous house detention of APHC chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq thereby barring him from carrying out his social, religious and political activities.

The spokesman urged people to make the July 21 program successful. The programme has been issued by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) for holding a peaceful sit in at UN Office Sonwar and observing a complete shutdown across Kashmir against killing of youth, unabated rights violations, raids and caging pro-freedom leadership.
