FIR registered against army for Beerwah killing : Police

A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against the army over the killing of a youth in Beerwah town of central Kashmir’s Budgam district, police said.

A senior police official of the district said that an FIR has been registered against Army’s 53 RR over the killing of Tanveer Ahmad Wani.

Meanwhile, another youth Mehrajuddin of Goripora village was injured after army opened fire on protesters in the town.

He has been shifted to District Hospital Budgam where his condition is stated to be stable.

Two to three civilian were injured when Army’s 53 RR unit fired at protesters in Beerwah town of district Budgam.

Witness said that the army fired indiscriminately on the civilians when they were on their way to offer Friday prayers.
