Regularize us or we will take to stone pelting, threaten contractual lecturers

The hunger strike by contractual lecturers (10 2) entered 144th day, on Saturday, who are demanding regularization as per the Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010. This legislature was passed for the regularization of all the ad-hoc or contractual employees.

The contractual lecturers raised slogans like laayen gey layen gaye hum kranti layen gaye, hamara shoshan karna bandh karo bandh karo, contractual lecturers ko regularise karo regularise karo, 10 2 contractual lecturers karye pukar regularise karo rajya sarkar.

The state president of the association, Arun Bakhshi said he has full support of the contractual lecturers of Kashmir. A two-day pen-down strike was organised, during which no classes were held in any Higher Secondary School of Kashmir. Thus the studies of the students suffered.

One of the contractual lecturer from Kupwara issued an audio extending support to the hunger strike of contractual lecturers of Jammu and said that after the vacations they would also go on strike.

Another contractual lecturer Javid said that regularization was their right and despite convincing Education Minister as well as the commissioner secretary to education our regularization is delayed.

“They warned the government that if they are not regularized then they would also adopt the path of stone pelting and worsen the situation in Kashmir valley more than the present.”

Some of them who were on rotational chain hunger strike include Shipeel Singh, Arun Bakhshi, Ramana Kumari and Madhvi Sharma.
