Forces using ‘chemical agents’ against brave hearts: Geelani

Expressing concern over the reports of ‘using chemical weapons and agents against resistant groups during encounter,’ Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani said that Indian forces are using ‘chemical agents’ against brave hearts.

Referring to Bahmnoo Pulwama encounter, Geelani according to the statement issued here said that “Indian forces are using chemical agents against brave hearts,” and added that “it is serious violation of human norms and urged international community to take their cognizance and probe and look into the matter.”

Geelani said that “India is engaging all its military might against unarmed and innocent people in state and trampling all humanitarian rights of civilians.”

“Indian forces during encounters besiege a large area and during encounters the residential houses are blasted and raised to ground,” he said, adding that at times these forces make innocents including children as human shields and with the reason the people feel insecure even in their residences.

“Its use is the serious violation of all norms and against “Chemical Weapons Convention,” added Geelani, “however India and its forces have crossed all limits.”

Referring to reports revealed by eye-witness about the Bahmnoo encounter, details about charring of bodies and use of chemical weapons, Geelani said that “the dead bodies of militants were charred beyond recognition.”

He in his appeal to international Human Rights organization urged them to take cognizance and help save precious lives in Kashmir.
