Minister convenes meeting with RDD‘s ground staff

With an aim to streamline the functioning of the Rural Development Department, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and Law & Justice, Abdul Haq today convened first meeting of its kind with officials of the department at the grassroots level.

The Minister held a meeting with the administrative section of the department including Junior Assistants, Record Keepers, Section Officers and Head Assistants.

The meeting was also attended by Commissioner Secretary RDD Nirmal Sharma, Additional Secretary RDD, Under Secretaries, Director Panchayats, Director Finance and Joint Director Planning.

On the occasion Minister said the government is committed to redress the grievances of the employees and all possible initiatives will be taken to streamline the system.

He assured the staff of AGs office that he will not allow stagnation in the department and Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meetings will be regularly held to promote the deserving staff to avoid unnecessary stagnation.

Minister said government is positive in resolving employees’ issues adding that simultaneously government will ensure transparency and accountability in the offices. He said government will review the performance of its employees and that promotions will be made on the basis of the performance.

He asked administrative heads to regularly review the performance  of its employees stating that non performing officials will be shown doors.

During the Minister was informed about the retrospective promotions of Junior Engineers (JE’s), VLW’s and regularization of BDO’s. Mr Abdul Haq Khan directed officials to review the cases of employees and suggested them to bring swiftness in their work. So, that their grievances are redressed at an earliest. He directed officials to bring swiftness in resolving the cases of employees in a time bound manner.

Abdul Haq also discussed the various cases pending before the department and asked the officers to expedite the process for their early disposal, which will ensure timely deliverance of justice to the people. He also said that there should not be delay in providing information, as well in case resolving of the employees.

He directed for constituent of a Committee that will look after the litigations of its employees. He said department will review cases of the employees of its department who have approached courts with various issues including promotions etc. HE said the committee will review the cases and if petitioner’s prayer is genuine, then government will prefer to implement the orders instead of approaching courts.
