The Directorate of Economics & Statistics J&K through Regional Joint Director, Evaluation & Statistics, Jammu organized a function on the eve of 11th National Statistics Day, to recognize contribution of Late Prof. P. C. Mahalanobis, Father of Indian Statistics, in the fields of Economic Planning and Statistical Development.

The theme for this year’s Statistics-Day was “Administrative Statistics”.

Director, Directorate of Economics & Statistics J&K, Veena Thapar, was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajni Charak, Regional Joint Director, Evaluation & Statistics highlighted the importance of administrative statistics in Planning.  Ashu Gupta, Sr. Instructor, Statistical Training Institute along with other dignitaries also spoke on the occasion. CPUs and DSEOs of various districts of Jammu region along with members of statistical fraternity participated in the function.
