Update: 65 injured in Kakapora clashes

More than 65 persons were injured in clashes between protesters and government forces following the killing of three militants and a civilian in Kakapora area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir on Thursday.

According to the hospital sources, more than sixty persons, with pellet and shell injuries, were brought to PHC Kakapora.

Over a dozen was being treated at Sub-district hospital Pampore and many were shifted to Srinagar hospitals for further treatment, they said.

Clashes erupted in the adjoining areas of Kakapora, and other areas of Pulwama district on Thursday after three Lashkar-e-Toiba militants were killed in an overnight gunbattle with forces in New Colony Kakapora.

Meanwhile, a civilian was killed after government forces clashed with protesters in the Kakpora area of Pulwama.
