CS reviews Yatra arrangements at Pahalgam

Chief Secretary BB Vyas convened a meeting to review the preparations for smooth conduct of Annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, 2017 at Pahalgam Club, here today.

Principal Secretary Home Department RK Goyal, DG Police Dr SP Vaid, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan, DDC Anantnag Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, SSP Anantnag, ADDC, CEO, PDA, SDM Pahalgam, SE hydraulic, SE PDD, DFO South Bijbehara, Ex-Ens of PHE, PDD, PMGSY & other concerned district officers were present in the meeting.

District Development Commissioner, Anantnag who is also the Yatra officer, briefed the Chief Secretary about the arrangements made so far for smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2017.

He informed the meeting that 55 temporary toilets have been established at transit camp Walnut Factory Qazigund besides 65 public posts of drinking water have been setup; similar arrangements have been made at transit camp Mir Bazar. PHE department is also making drinking water arrangements for devotees at Sheshnag, Panjtarni and holy cave, he added.

DDC also apprised Chief Secretary about the arrangements made by PDD, Health, FCS&CA departments and informed that 500 Qtls of rice, 200 Qtls of Atta, 150 Qtls of sugar, 24 Kls of K. Oil and 7500 LPG Cylinders have been stocked at Chandanwari and Nunwan Base Camps. The details of allotment for boarding tents/ shop tents to service providers who were selected through draw of lots has also been furnished to SSP, Anantnag for verification of character. It was told that a total of 2350 tents and 170 shops will be established at Nunwan, Sheshnag, Panjtarni and Holy Cave.

Deputy Commissioner also informed the meeting that Forest Department has dispatched 600 Qtls of firewood besides keeping a stock of 4000 Qtls of Firewood ready for dispatch to all stations as per past practices.

Executive Engineer PDD apprised the meeting that 65 DG sets of 2.8 KV will be available at various stations besides 22 inflatable lights have already been procured for SANJY 2017.

Deputy Commissioner also apprised Chief Secretary and other officers about the preparations of Action Plan and Disaster Management for SANJY 2017 and said that a control room has been established at DC office Anantnag. 48 places have also been identified as Disaster Management centres from Jawahar Tunnel to Chandanwari, he added.

Chief Secretary stressed upon the all concerned officers to complete all necessary arrangements, well in time of yatra commencing from June 29, 2017, for smooth and successful conduct of SANJY 2017.
