Police to assist organizing T-20 tourney for specially abled cricketers

Director General of Police Dr. S.P Vaid on Tuesday, said that Jammu and Kashmir has been contributing in the promotion of sports in the State, and various sports activities are carried out to inspire the youth towards sports.

Dr. Vaid was interacting with the office bearers of J&K Association of Deaf at Police Headquarters on Tuesday and said that “JKP has organized many sports events for specially abled players. A national level cricket tournament was organized at Jammu for specially abled cricketers in which various states of the country participated.”

The DGP in his interaction with the office bearers informed that JKP is organizing good number of sports events in Kashmir this summer.

“These events include Jashn-e-Dal, Run for Fun, Martyrs Memorial Football Tournament and Special Football coaching camps for youth in collaboration with J&K Football Association. Range level sports festivals are also being held in the two provinces of the State,” Dr. Vaid informed further.

In this meeting the General Secretary of the Association Umar Ashraf Baig accompanied by Mudasir Nisar requested the DGP for his cooperation in organizing a T-20 Cricket Tournament at Baramulla.  DGP, as per the statement assured them that the department will provide every possible assistance in organizing of the event.
