District Development Commissioner, Niraj Kumar today convened a meeting, to finalize the arrangements for the celebration of 3rd International Yoga Day.

During the meeting, it was decided that the main event would be held at Government Degree College, Boys Udhampur. Besides this, it was also informed that the day would also be celebrated at the Tehsil and Block levels and at all the venues, Special  Yoga classes would be organized for the participants from 6:30 to 8:30 hrs besides creating awareness among them about the benefits of Yoga .

It was further informed that this year the day would be celebrated under the theme ‘Yoga for Health’.

Speaking at the meeting, the DDC urged the people to participate in the event in large number to make it a grand success.

The meeting also discussed in detail  various arrangements like Provision of Drinking water, Setting up of Temporary toilets, Seating arrangement, light  refreshment to the participants, Sound System etc.  that are to be  put in place for the  event.

A committee with Medical Superintendent, Dr Narinder Bhatial as nodal officer was also constituted to oversee the arrangements .

 Among others, the meeting was  attended by CPO, Ashok Khajuria, , ARTO Rajesh Gupta, DIO Esha Chib, Dy SP HQ Kameshwar Puri, Representatives of Bhartiya Yoga Sansthan, Art Of Living and Patanjali besides President, Beopar Mandal , Surinder Singh Khalsa and Secretary , Beopar Mandal Sanjeev Sharma.
