Youth injured in Rangreth clashes succumbs

A youth who was grievously injured in firing by government forces in Rangreth area on the outskirts of Srinagar, last evening, has succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Naseer Ahmad, a resident of Ashtengo village in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Pertinently, last evening , Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel were withdrawing from the Ranreth area when they came under stone-pelting.

They (SSB) resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protesters and Nasir was consequently injured.

 He was then rushed to Medical College Hospital Bemina where from he was referred to SKIMS, Soura.

However, he succumbed to his injuries at around mid-night.

“He was declared dead at around midnight,” said a health official.
