The patient had undergone surgery and was admitted in SHMS’s ward number 18.

“She was given an injection which lead to a reaction,” said Sahil.

According to him, when his mother started to wreath in pain they started to look for some doctor or any paramedic in the ward, which unfortunately, they could not.

“I found no one around, and my mother was dying of pain,” he said.

After the incident, only the emergency unit is functional, and rest, all the activities (OPD/IPD) have been hit owing to the medicos strike.

Police have formally registered a case in this regard on the complaint of the relatives of the deceased under FIR number 27 under section 304, stating it to be a clear case of death due to negligence.

When this reporter tried to contact Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr. Nazir Chowdhary, to get an official comment on the incident, he said that “I am not authorized to speak on the issue” adding that “Principal GMC has given us clear orders not to speak to media personnel.” Many officials were contacted for comments, but nobody spoke about it.
