Arrangements for annual Kishtwar Urs discussed  

District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan today convened a meeting of district officers and members of Auqaf Islamia to discuss the arrangements for annual Urs Mubarak of Shah Farid-ud-Din Baghdadi on June 20, 2017.

Threadbare discussions were held on   various arrangements to be put in place by the district administration for the Urs.

The DDC directed the XEN PHE Division Kishtwar to ensure availability of drinking water for Zayreen/devotees at the shrine He asked the department to fill the reservoir and install tanks and temporary connections at prominent places. Directions were passed on to the ADDC Kishtwar to constitute a control room/Enquiry Centre for the convenience of devotees on the day.

Executive Officer Municipal committee Kishtwar was asked to install street lights and take up the necessary repair works wherever required. The MC was also asked to install temporary toilets for the visiting pilgrims.  Market inspection to check overcharging was also ordered.

Balwan directed CMO Kishtwar to establish temporary medical camps near the shrine and also keep one ambulance available on the spot.

Regarding security, SSP Kishtwar was asked to deploy adequate number of security personnel in and around the shrine and at various places in the town to maintain law and order situation.

ARTO Kishtwar and Manager JKSRTC Kishtwar were directed to ensure availability of adequate number of Buses for smooth movement of passengers on the day.

Similar directions were issued to heads of  other line departments including PDD to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the town and keep one Gen set available at Shrine for emergency purpose. The CEO KDA was asked to

maintain the lights around the Chowgan ground and also advertise the event through printed banners.

Meanwhile, the DDC enjoined upon all concerned officers to ensure submission of list of all the arrangement made by them   before 17th of June for cross check.
