Nine CRPF men injured in Grenade blast

Nine Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were wounded in a grenade attack in Lariyar village of Tral in Pulwama district in South Kashmir, on Tuesday, a police spokesman said here.

He said that the attack took place on 180 Bn CRPF in Lariyar village. “Nine personnel were injured in the attack,” he said.

The injured have been rushed to 92 Base hospital in Srinagar for treatment, he said.

Meanwhile, militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen has claimed responsibility fot the attack.

In a tele statement, the outfit confirmed to a local news gathering agency that its men were behind the attack.

Meanwhile, another grenade was hurled by suspected gunmen on a camp housing 130 Bn of CRPF in Awantipora. Police sources said that the grenade missed the intended target and exploded on road with a big bang. No reports of any causality have been reported in the incident, sources added.

Meanwhile militants hurled a grenade towards police station in main town Pulwama. However ,no reports of injury were reported. Elsewhere militants fired upon 116 Battalion CRPF camp situated at Sarnal in Anantnag.
