The employees of Municipal Council Sopore including Safaikaramcharis on Friday staged a sit protest  outside Municipal Council office, against the ‘negligent attitude’ of Executive officer towards their demands.

Raising high pitched slogans against Executive Officer G.M Lone, the angry protesting employees said that the arrogant attitude of Executive officer will badly effect the civic facilities in the town.

The protesting employees of local and urban bodies department said that they will continue to agitate and protest until their demands will not be fulfilled.

Pertinently, the daily wagers working in the Municipal council Sopore demanded the EO’s transfer and demanded that their genuine demands regarding transfer policy, pending pension and service books should be addressed immediately.

The protesting employees threatened that they will not let the Municipal office function till their demand are not met.

Meanwhile, when contacted Executive Officer, Municipal Council Sopore GM Lone said that all allegations leveled against him are baseless.

He said that employees hit the streets soon after government transferred one employee from his location. He said that the employee was attached here for more than 10 years.

“If the government wishes to transfer me or any other official why should he resent the decision,” Lone said.
